Popular Questions

Car rental for your Praslin stay is a separate booking from Mahé. The answers below come from the Seychelles rental terms and the booking rules.

A pale sand beach between tropical forest and turquoise water
Where do I collect the car, and what should I check?

Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) is on Mahé. Questions about the meeting point go to the rental company, whose contact details are in the email sent after booking. The car goes back with the fuel level it had at pickup.

Can I drive between islands or use any road?

No. Travel outside the car’s home island is prohibited, so Mahé and Praslin need separate cars. Rental cars may be driven only on paved public roads, whatever the vehicle.

Do I need a credit card or a deposit?

Each offer shows its deposit and accepted payment method. A physical embossed credit card in the main driver’s name may be required. Where debit cards are accepted, the booking and voucher say so, and the card must be physical, personalised, embossed and in that name.

What does the standard insurance cover?

Each offer shows its cover and excess. Standard insurance does not cover the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen or interior. After an insured event you must notify the rental agent immediately and obtain a police report, unless agreed otherwise; otherwise the insurance is cancelled.

Which driving licence do I need?

A valid physical national licence with its details also in Latin script, valid until the last rental day. Copies and electronic licences are not accepted. An International Driving Permit is strongly recommended if the licence is valid only in its issuing country.

How do fuel, return times and booking changes work?

Fuel goes back at the pickup level; missing fuel is charged at the company’s rates and extra fuel is not refunded. The minimum chargeable period is 24 hours, and a started extra day is charged as a full day. An extension needs advance notice to the rental agent. A booking cancelled at least 7 days before the start (30 days for luxury cars and convertibles) has its advance refunded, less 6 percent of the amount paid.
